The meeting was unveiled by a foreign policy aide to the Russian President, Yury Ushakov, and President of the Primakov IMEMO think-tank, Alexander Dynkin.

"Primakov's ideas are still relevant and in great demand today. What is important is that the theme of the forum is forward-leaning. We are looking at a range of pressing issues coupled with projections for global development until 2035," Yury Ushakov read out the welcoming remarks by Russian President Vladimir Putin to the forum's sponsors and participants.

"The forum has become a significant event in Russia's public and political life. We have 45 experts from 20 countries, 50 foreign guests, 40 ambassadors and diplomats, 35 foreign foundations, and 400 media representatives. Our goal today is to identify the trends that are shaping our future," said Mr. Dynkin.

CCI President Sergey Katyrin stressed that the Primakov Readings bring together experts from many countries.

The experts will discuss international terrorism and the reasons why this threat has not been able to unite all responsible international players. IMEMO will also present a new global forecast called "World 2035: Comprehensive Outlook".
